Questions We Get a Lot

An L-screen is shaped like the letter L and is the standard choice for pitchers and coaches throwing live BP — it covers the body while still allowing a full throwing motion. A C-screen features a cutout opening and is typically used in front of a pitching machine to shield the machine and operator while the batter swings freely. Both are designed to absorb line drives, so the right choice depends on whether you're throwing live or using a machine.

Yes — our screens are built with heavy-duty steel frames and come with ground stakes or sandbag anchoring options to stay planted during outdoor drills. Models like the 6x6 and 7x7 L-screens include wheels for easy repositioning between reps without sacrificing stability. If you're training on a softer surface like grass, we recommend using all included stakes for the most secure setup.

For high-velocity live BP, look for screens with double-net body construction or heavy-duty nylon netting — our 7x5 ft L-screen features a #36 nylon double net that's specifically built to handle repeated line drive impact. Heavier netting absorbs and dissipates force more effectively, which means greater durability and better protection over a full season of reps. Always check the frame gauge as well — a solid steel frame keeps the screen from shifting on hard contact.

We offer 30-Day Returns on protective screens — if your screen isn't the right fit for your training space or setup, you can initiate a return within 30 days of delivery. Please refer to our Return Policy page for full details on eligibility and the return process. We want every piece of equipment you bring to practice to feel like the right call.

About Our Baseball Protective Screens

Baseball protective screens are a non-negotiable part of any serious practice setup — whether you're running live BP sessions, working with a pitching machine, or drilling from the mound. At Baseball Training Essentials, our collection includes heavy-duty L-screens, portable C-screens, and pitching nets with strike zones, all designed to protect pitchers, coaches, and catchers during high-intensity training. Our L-screens feature super heavy-duty steel frame construction and double-net nylon bodies built to stand up to repeated hard contact. C-screens are designed with reinforced cutout openings so coaches can safely operate pitching machines without interrupting a batter's sight line. Whether you're building out a backyard batting cage or running full team practice, the right protective screen helps everyone on the field train smarter, stay safe, and focus on the work that builds better players. Every screen in our lineup is portable and easy to set up, so you spend more time on reps and less time on logistics.
